Muskies have large fangs an inch or two apart? I'm suspecting otter, which was an alternative guess in the news article I read.

Big topic of debate and discussion here in MN. Most people I've come across think not a musky. On another sire, people posted pics of otter jaw/teeth compared to musky - hard to argue with the otter theory.

Sucks either way for the poor girl...sitting on a dock will never be the same. Can't count the hours I've sat on the end of a dock with feet dangling in the water, or swimming in prime northern/musky habitat.

Ouch.

Are musky teeth similar to pike teeth? Do they usually shake back and forth when they strike? I'd think if a fish did that, she'd have a lot more smaller cuts going both horizontal and vertical. Whatever it was, hope she heals up ok, looks like some of them injured seals I saw on shark week last night.

I have a 50" muskie hanging on my wall at home and I've said for the past ten years I'm unsure how people could 'recreate' in a smaller lake where these monsters hang out. Have you ever seen the teeth of these fish when they reach 30-40 pounds?? Fangs, I tell ya...

I don't understand why people need to tell the 11 yr old who had to kick the attacker off of her foot that she is mistaking a furry mammal for a fish.

I...just...don't...get...it. Seriously, WTF am I missing here? Did the girl say she didn't know what it was that bit her? She did say in at least one article that she had to "kick it in the head" before it released her.
