I was out night lighting ducks at night to put radios on them. I was using a surplus airboat used as a gun boat in Vietnam. The hull was a foot thick and it had a 300 horse Lykomen engine. Heavy, heavy, heavy, and I made the mistake of slowing down on a 1/4 mile wide mud flat. One time another guy was driving, and two of us were netting. He grounded it in soft mud. Thank goodness it was soft because we shook the front back and fourth as he gunned the engine. It broke loose as it was pointed at the other guy. He couldn't stop or the guy would have been trapped under the boat. Pressed him right into the mud on his back. Lucky it was a smooth hull or his face would have been more sore.
