Seems like there are new regulations every other day in the medical industry. I called my local pharmacy to find out how much my copay would be for a continuous glucose monitor but I only found out they can't supply them to people on medicare ?? So then I called my called my Insurance company, United Healthcare and the lady said I should be able to get it for zero co-pay if the supplier is a preferred network pharmacy and will "accept assignment" , meaning they will accept what medicare will pay. It only took me half a day to get this far down the rabbit hole , I spent the rest of the day trying to find a mail order pharmacy that will "accept assignment".

Have any of you old timers been down this road ? I could sure use some help.

Thank you, I didn't find much info online for them, I'll get ahold of them tomorrow. It's crazy that the UHC customer service didn't tell me .

They reclassified CGMs as durable medical equipment but it makes no sense that a pharmacy can't sell them.

I get mine thru Medicare…but they make it difficult…they assume that every new cgm unit will last the full ten days its advertised, down to the hour. Meducare doesn’t understand the real world: they get inaccurate for me in the last several hours of life, sometimes you just have to change it a day early to fit you’d schedule, sometimes they fail days early etc….so I can only get a refill when I’m a couple days from being out of supplies. I get mine at Mayo Pharmacy in Bismarck

It doesn't sound like they have improved since I tried them a few years ago. I was working then and would knock them off or in hot weather they just fell off. That was Libre brand , the company used to replace them for free if they were defective.
