"as long as the water is still water"... i think you may want to re-think how you comprehended that sentence JC. "still water". now that's good stuff. no offense. just found myself chuckling.

I'm in the exact same "boat" ;:;rofl
I got my first big boy boat about a month ago, and I'm itching to get it up to Rainy this weekend, but sounds like it's gonna be cold.
My boat has the Yamaha 150 4 stroke and I'm super nervous that somethings going to freeze or crack and break it. From everything I've read though, as soon as you get the boat out of the water, drop the motor all the way back down and let it drain and you should be fine. Hopefully that works out, and more importantly, hopefully I can hook into some hogs up on the Rainy!

Where are you from? What kind of Boat did you get? I have been considering Rainy as well but from all the reports I have see the sturgeon are on but not the walleye yet. Are you going to get out and do a break in first? I plan on getting out as soon as I can.
Nice. I looked really hard at the Trophy's but ended up going Impact. 1850 also. And I too am from GF. Maybe we can race them one day. :;:rockitI'm from Grand Forks. I bought a 2013 alumacraft trophy 185 with just under 30hrs on it so not too worried about break-in. From what I've read, the water is starting to clear up, so hopefully we should be able to get on them. This will be my first year up there, my roommate went up last year and caught his personal best 29.5" 'eye.
