i don't ice fish anymore, but always enjoy reading the reports from the major nd lakes... seems this year there hasn't been much for reports on the big 4 - devils, darling, audubon, and sak... trying to figure out if it is really slow - so no one's talkin, or if it's awesome - so no one's talkin...

i did really well on western sak last year and really struggled at devils... kind of a flip from the past few years - and just wondering how much time to devote to devils this next summer compared to sak...

so, hows it going on the hard water for u???

I haven't fished any of the bigger lakes but have been out a handful of times on smaller potholes and it just hasn't been a good year for me.

West sak has been great for me I'd say I've had a 90% limit success probably one if my best seasons as far as ice condition and fishing

fished about 15 times this winter . Started out at Irving limited out 4/5 times then went to Devils gone 5/5 there and been 5/5 on stump . I target walleyes . Been setting up 7-12' . Sunrise -11am has been best . If your not there and setup at sunrise then u could just as well stay home as the best has been about right at 8:00 . Been getting some perch in early mornings mixed in with the walleyes . Overall much better size at stump typical limit is 15-20" eyes . Devils it was 13s and 14s mostly plus tons of throw back 6-12" fish . Been a great winter . Devils is full of 6-12" fish that was evident last summer . Future looks good
