A few snows down here and some specks. A bunch of cranes showed up yesterday. Little to nothing for ducks. Got my ass kicked last weekend a few stale birds and fog

There must be a million snows on the Zahl refuge north of Williston I was putting on some frac trees north of there and on the way home the pond was completely white
I agree between Zahl and Wildrose area I would say we seen close to million birds this weekend. Its amazing the noise a big flock of snows can make. Its almost deafening when we were just on the other side of a pond from a large flock walking for deer.

drove to sterling today on 94 and between Menoken and sterling were 10 of thousands of geese. I have a nearly 2 minute video of continuous flock of geese and I was driving 80mph, They were right south of 94. I will try to load the video if I can figure it out.

had a lot of problems this last week with people jumping the roosts east of washburn to turtle lake. Hard to believe people wake up in the morning or travel hundreds of miles to go jump roosts... but to each there own. hopefully things quiet down soon. it is completely crazy this year the number of out of staters. never see anything quite like it. love the east coast folks that visit so far, but our neighbors to the east a state or two.....ugh

Crane migration used to peak the first week of grouse season in SD. Now it’s well into November. Pretty wild.

No Crane season would hit it prime the week of N.D. Teachers Convention and week after. So the 3rd and 4th week of Oct. But I agree, this is a different fall.
