Ive never been sea sick, but it is definitely a different ball game once you are out of sight of land with nothing to focus on. Just becasue you have grown up fishing on Sak or Devils doesn't mean you wont be hurling your guts out on the open ocean.

ive been out on the ocean before on a big boat and did ok, hoping ill be ok in a little smaller boat

take Bonine - not Dramamine

and start in on it the night before

I am not prone either - but have friends who are off shore gurus and they swear by Bonine (no drowsiness)

and ginger gum

I cannot let this one go. Locals like to use them to clean nether regions and then put them back for you to take home with pictures logged on your cell phone, as I have been told.;:;barf

Watch your wallet and pay attention to your resturant and bar tabs...

Its not your toothpaste that tastes like shit! ;:;rofl Every day we left the room we would put $5 on the bed and made sure any valuables were in the safe. At the bars we would tip 2$ to $5 depending on the service.

My brother went to Jamaica for a vacation once and hired the local guide. They went out in a wooden boat looked like a big canoe with a 25 hp Johnson. He said he has never been so scared of drowning in his life. They didn't catch a thing which holds true for many vacation areas such as Mexico and Jamaica. Most of the time the vacation is planned at the time of the year for good fishing in the area. If you want to fish on a vacation plan the vacation around fishing instead of the fishing around the vacation destination.

Most all inclusive resorts say no tipping. Granted when you get to the airport there will be people that want to help with your bags, shuttle drivers and different services that expect tips. Also spay fishing and other activities that want tips.

We stayed @ the Ibero Star resort in Montego Bay. It was a very nice place to stay and its all inclusive food, drinks, 24 hour room service. You gotta get off the resorts and mingle with the people. Jamaica is place full of culture and all around good people. Its poor but everyone is very welcoming and sociable. The food is great off the resort, ask the cab drivers where the best places to eat are at.

We also stayed in Negril. There are a lot of bed and breakfast type of resorts there along with the big player resorts.

My wife and I went to Ocho Rios Sandals for our honeymoon. It was an all inclusive bit. We tipped sparingly, but didn't carry cash around the resort if we didn't have to. This was our first trip to Jamaica so we wanted to do the experience things.

We were busy doing something every day and by the end of the trip we were tired and felt like we hadn't relaxed at all. My advice would be for a week long trip, plan 3 days of activities and then just relax on the other 4 days. Like an every other day thing. Also, if you don't make reservations or anything in advance, you don't feel like you need to do it. You can just wake up one day and decide to do something if you want.
