I have an Eskimo 949i and bought the zippered bag for it that wasn't the original. Ebay says it's not available anymore so I can't share what it was, but MAN is it an upgrade! No more trying to stuff everything into a bag from one end!

Yep, the packing Eskimo shelters back in the bags REALLY sucks. I've been thinking about taking it to Gartners to see if he can put a side zipper on it.

I thought of taking my DoubleBull blind case to Gartners and have them add 10” to the circumference. They must roll the hub blinds up with a 10 ton press before putting them in the case. Probably a Chinese joke on us…

I have a 949I and don’t have much trouble bagging it. The strap I tighten the middle with before bagging helps considerably.

Had 949i's for years as well and the bagging did suck. Got an Otter Vortex Pro Lodge. That open door is sooo nice compared to the 949's and the otter goes in the bag easily. I also believe the Otter may be a bit warmer and has less condensation possibly? Both are good, but if anyone is buying new, I would get the full door in either Eskimo or Otter.

Eskimo made them first. Better zipper system and layered fabric insulation instead of quilted so you don’t get all the pinholes after the first year. On year 4 of my 650. Fish 3 to 4 out of there real comfortably. Any more I’d go 850. And the Velcro windows makes for good air circulation and a great place to shoot a deer out of.
I did not know that! I run the Eskimo 2800 for my flip over and absolutely love that ice house. It stays 10x warmer than my old Clam Refuge. 100% agree on the velcro windows.

^^^^^^
I just don't understand why people continue to have this stuff happen. I know different circumstances cause issues, but why take the chance? Glad no one got hurt. I have done alot of dumb shit in my day. But I respect that ice. Hope the fish caught were worth it.

Careful, I hear they can scare fish away.
I fished with an individual that had it and it did help us find fish I also believe that it made them move more fishing a lot of 25fow. I told him that he had beat up on the fish for too many weeks in a row and they got the game figured out. Take it for what its worth because that is only a sample of one day so there could have been other factors

That pic of dude in there fishing in same hole as livescope looks like zero fun. Need a little more room than that. I do 3 holes inside Otter cabin
I was posting for the deal, I agree for most it would be to small, I have a 12 year old Jason Mitchell full thermal voyager that's a beast for one but once it is set up it's perfect.
