Maybe you had it with for another reason but those little lithium jump packs are pretty slick. Mine stays in my boat and then gets transferred to the ranger for the winter.
I have the heater, fog/flood lights, and all the excess whatnots hooked to that little ranger battery, a good cold day makes that battery pretty week. I would guess if I could fit a regular car sized battery under that little hood I would be golden. I have always wanted one of them jumpers, but years back had one(as big as an air compressor), and when I needed it it was dead. Of course it isn't the fancy ones of today

What do you guys use to light up an area for low light tip ups?

I like to fish into the dark a bit, and it really sucks trying to see if I have an array of tip ups, jaw jackers spread out.

I have some head lamps I set next to them now, but its not ideal

I use a small rechargeable spot-light. Works great.

Just pull one of those generators with lights that they use at construction sites. 👍

I have actually thought about that. It would run the lights, the heaters and fans, the microwave, and all the gadgets one would want to bring. But guessing the rent of it all would be prohibitive.
Maybe if one was to have a weekend shenanigans event with a few dozen it would be worthy.

Dewalt Flashlights. Aim them at your tip up or rod. DCLO4O Amazon has them on sale today for $35. I have been using these for the last few years and they work great.

Individual led tip up lights are awesome. When the red light comes on you go. No worry about lighting a whole area. Mine have lasted for years

Are those rechargeable or lithium batteries ? ( lith batts are expensive but last better than alkaline in cold weather)

I always set them close enough to base camp that I could reach out with a super bright flashlight to check em. Also always had the tip up lights that go off once it's tipped up.

I use the blue tipzs transmitters, sends a signal to your phone(with app) or to their receiver and also flashes a red light when tripped, they work great,no more up and down looking out the windows to check tip ups.I like the receiver, you have to keep app updated,to keep up with software updates on phone.
A great company, the owner of the company called me on a Sunday night answering an email I sent regarding software updates. You don't get that kind of service from anywhere these days.

I was looking at making my own Bluetooth alarm for tip ups on my hook set tip ups, I see you can buy Bluetooth door alarms for around 13 bucks a piece. There are youtube video where guys used just the regular ones that use a magnetic tag that when tripped it sounds out an alarm sound. The Bluetooth ones use an app just like the blue tipz or vulture ones, I'm a cheap ass but handy at making things work with some ingenuity.

Put high vis reflective tape on both sides of the flag (works best with the rigid insulated tip ups). Position the tip up so the reflective tape will be broadside from where I'll be looking. They stick out like a sore thumb when panning with a headlamp or flashlight. Don't require batteries or maintenance.

Looking for a new hub house, needs to have a full door not one of them damn triangle shaped trip hazards. at least 6 feet high inside. Big enough for 3-4 adults and well insulated. Recommendations?
