It's not just for road hunting. When coyote hunting, I'm not going to keep casing and uncasing my rifle for each set.

That statement sure feels like road-hunting, lol. But in all seriousness, I've had the full flow through center console and console shifter since 2011 on a few different Ford F150s. All I ever do is take my soft case, unzip it 80% and have the case sitting between the console and the edge of the seat. My gun just sits long the right side of the driver seat and the center console. I wouldn't exactly call this "casing" my gun (rifle or shotgun). With that said I have had the barrel hit the gas petal a couple times over the years, lol.

cased on the floor in the back seat, never been much of a road hunter.

I don't road hunt either, but have been known to drive the tips of the breaks lol. On the rez there are established trails on all the lookouts.
