So if I understand this correctly this bill would do nothing more than make our summer nights shorter and the mornings even earlier? And it would still be dark in the winter at 5pm? Gaaaay

This would be a mess in border cities. Part of the year Fargo and Moorehead would be on different times. A lot of people have a mix of living, work, school, daycare, appointments, business, church, and social gatherings on both sides of the border.

This seems to be about people not wanting to move their clocks twice a year. I am down to actually changing one or two clocks, the rest change automatically. The change can hit me for a few days, but I quickly adapt.

If I was retired, I would probably prefer Standard Time all year.

Since the vote wasn't all that close in the house, I'm guessing they didn't put much thought into this. Terrible idea. This will affect working people and kids quite a bit. Most retired people that I know don't give two shits what the numbers on the clock say. At least I will be able to mow my grass at 4:30 am now 😂

Has anyone called their reps and voiced your opinion? Not that they would care what their constituents want, I know crazy talk.

I contacted our senator and gave her my 2 Cents --- i asked the question why

Waiting for response and they do respond and believe it or not.

They may respond, and if they DO THEIR JOB, they'd vote the way their constituents wanted not their personal opinion.

I honestly believe many of the legislators do not know what they are actually voting for other than "getting rid of the time change", not having a clue what the average person's day will actually look like with this change in terms of work/family/fun balance. Time will tell but contacting our legislators on this issue is well worth your time.

Since I’m retired either way doesn’t really affect me but some of my golfing and fishing buddies still work and I know they want Daylight Savings time. I’m for leaving it as Daylight Savings time all the time, but I think it’s a federal law that that can’t be done.

If it's a federal law no to change it, change the dam federal law!
DST all year round!
That's what I'm hearing. So if the Feds can do that, then the Feds should be able to make it so we all have to use DST! I know they increased DST by a few weeks not too long ago as part of an energy bill. They claimed just by changing it by a few weeks on both ends that we'd save a bunch of energy by having an extra hour of light after work than before.
