This storms got me contemplating buying a snowblower. Ive really havnt needed one for years besides opening up the comunity mailbox. A storm like this my boy probably could make a couple hundred bucks clearing driveways. Hoping to find a old one I could pick up cheap running or not. If anyone has one sitting in the garage let me know what youd like for it. Im in Bismarck but make my way around the state.

We will be selling our John Deere 828 D in a little while as buying one in another town and trying to see if the guy can deliver it as we have no way of unloading it off our pickup once we get it to Bismarck. Our enclosed trailer is put away for the winter and can't get it out. Ours works good just want more HP.

What would you want for the JD? Either way if you needed help unloading I could probably get you some muscle.

I have a red one, not sure on the make, thinking MTD, it is 20+ years old. I have owned it for 10 yrs now, bought it from a buddy that went and moved to Phoenix. I have never had to pull it more than twice to start it, one season I didn't even use it once.
Best $100 I ever spent.

Point being, you sure don't need to blow a pile of cash and purchase a new one. I am guessing I might get 20 more years out of this one.

So I have this 80 snowflite that I broke the drive azle that the tires are connected to, so my dilemma is that I can't find any information on a snowblower that is 30 years old which is strange because I can find parts for a snowblower that is much older than mine. The old man thinks it was bought in Canada AH which is why I can't find any information online about it. So I will have to have a machine shop make one for me unless someone can point me in the right direction.

I agree with this. But... BUT! (and this is a big but)...

On snow days, when there is a big snow event, it fries me to fart around with something that doesn't operate at 100%.

I have a "Spirit" brand machine that works alright. It's a 10.5hp, 29" cut, two stage, electric start. Starts alright, and works alright but after it's warmed up completely, it won't run at full throttle. I'm guessing that a doo-hickey needs to be adjusted in the whatzit. So I have to run it at about half-throttle. It works.. takes longer and chugs down in heavy snow, but...

After nearly 30" in the past two weeks, I'm ready to go spend some money on something new, without any issues.

no but it sounds like you need a carb adjustment, fuel line filter. The carb on my 10 hp tecumseh needed to be cleaned and instead of cleaning it I bought a brand new one off of amazon for 20$ shipped free with prime. Just took of my old one put a new fual line and filter and did a little justment on the carb and good as new. Beats messing with the old one it was an easy fix
