Looking for a new charger for the boat. Need a 3 bank and was looking at either the minnkota or the cabelas brand. Is the minnkota really worth the extra couple hundred dollars? any other recommendations? thanks guys!

I always say, buy nice or buy twice. I've never heard a bad thing about the minnkota chargers.

I have had a MinnKota onboard charger in my boat for about 5 years now. Still working great. MinnKota currently makes two different series of onboard chargers.

The precision series are more expensive. They seem to be pretty similar to what I have except with a few more features and maybe slightly more compact. I have the MK315D model which is a 3 bank with 5 amps per bank (15 total). This seems to be enough to juice to charge the batteries overnight even after a full day of fishing. My friend has a cabelas charger and hasn't had any issues with it.
