As someone who struggles with hormonal imbalances and a healthy diet/exercise does not touch the extra poundage I carry around, I get why someone *would* use it. My last doctor suggested another version of it to help lower my BP, and of course insurance does not cover the costs. It was like $1500 a month. I was like bitch, I don't have that kind of money lol I'll just stay chubby and live healthy. I'd love to drop like 40 pounds but at the same time, sometimes it is just NOT doable through normal means of healthy living. I've tried it all, some healthy some not. If your body is not cooperating, it just won't work. Body shaming people for their life choices does nothing. It does not effect anyone but them.
Agree..whatever happened to worry about yourself mentality...you do you, i do me. If its something that you want thats your choice. Alot of judgemental people out there. Oh and large calorie reduction as stated always works but can be detramental which i am not going to explain to everyone on here...most Dr's can explain this if interested. 👍

Actually it doesn't, sometimes your body does not regulate the way it should. There's people with thyroid, diabetes and adrenal issues where diet doesn't matter it's a hormonal or chemical imbalance not at all related to diet.
It will everytime if you lower it to the point of starvation. Which will lead to other issues. Organ failure..etc metabolism can be diferent on each person as well affecting what you listed..kind if whybi said each their own. I am not gonna judge if you need some help due to what you listed along with othef things. I dont believe starvation is the answer...just creates other problems.

There is also a guy who i worked with when i was on the road who had gastric by pass surgery who lost 150 pounds and he looks really healthy compared to the guy im guessing is on the high blood pressure drug. He had it done over a decade ago and has managed to keep the weight off, with that said i know nothing about any thyroid issues but im sure comparing these 2 individuals weight loss success i would personally take the surgery over the drug because like the article said you would need to take the drug for the rest of your life to continue to keep the weight off.

Ive been around 200 hundred pounds but after i turned 45 i would gain around 7 pounds during the winter months and lose that weight in the summer. I decided to cut out junk food and pop, i am still around 200 hundred witch by my age and height i could still lose 40 or so more, but i get blood work done every year and my blood work tells me im healthy today. I turn the big 50 this October and i will see if i nèed to adjust what i eat some more but i know one thing that many people dont do is drink enough water especially if they are on medications for some other reason.

I would 100% go the medication route if covered by insurance before ever having gastric bypass surgery done. That surgery is very invasive and would be my absolute last resort.

Cutting portion sizes, and getting a walk or something in everyday will do wonders in the grand scheme of it all.
Getting fat took years, getting rid of the fat will also take years. I do not believe these GLP drugs are intended to be a life long take, its to get you down, and then once there the person needs to be conscience of diet and exercise

Agree. I lost 30 pounds by cutting portions and getting more exercise. We also do mostly 2 meals a day.

I dropped about 40 last winter doing fairly strict keto, with a carnivore emphasis. easiest way to drop lbs IMO, dont watch what I eat or count calories, just dont get hungry as much and feel full a lot faster. carbs are the devil I swear. I started doing elliptical every day on my lunch break which has helped to keep it off, but I need to get back on keto soon, still 20 or so Id like to take off. I consistently lose a few lbs a week when Im running keto.

I dont appreciate carbs at all, they just make me crave more carbs. have you ever done keto? Once your addiction to carbs is gone, hunger is totally a different experience than when your body is wanting sugars all the time. Unfortunately I have a sweet tooth...

Only protein diet is not good for you.....a balanced diet based off your body for caloric intake with excersise every day.....these goofy ass diets may make you look good but not good for your body.

I would love to see what their lab work looks like while on these diets.
I know a couple people that had issues with kidneys after doing carnivore makes them work to hard. Switched to a balanced diet and labs were back to normal.

Yup..i dont think people realize the damage they are doing to their body for what they believe is healthy. It should be a balanced diet with calories fit for your body and exercise every day. If that doesnt work over a period of time a consult with a doc as you may have issues with thyroid, metabolism, diabetes, and multiple other things which good ol doc can figure out and correct.
