There was a recent thread about this topic. I could not seem to pull that up so started a new one.
Anyway, this is a recent picture of the "channel" to get out of Pelican Landing into Pelican Lake.

I could easily see the lake going down 2 feet this year. There is relatively zero inflow into it this spring and some bays seem to already be receding.

Never been up that way, I keep hearing there's lots of shallow shit to hit...or maybe I'm just a puss. Either way I'm going to try fishing Pelican this summer at some point.

You will be fine -just follow the coulee or just follow the foam trail from ahab -

that channel is fine - its the section line bout 300 yards north that makes me pucker... if you get out there and a big south wind blows the water off the flat, you will be walking from grahams to the pelican ramp to get your truck and trailer...

I no longer launch at pelican. Too shallow for me. I also don't like digging mud with my prop. I will come from under the bridge if I want to fish Pelican.

With the rate the lake is dropping I would sure like to know how long or why they continue pumping. With all the infrastructure set why not maintain current level. At least stop pumping and I understand you can't control inflows or evaporation.

Because there's people who own land that's flooded. If some entity decides that Devils needs to stay as high as it is, then there's a buncha landowners that gotsta get PAID. The Garrison Diversion was to keep Devils Lake full.
