Not to hijack, but speaking of dogs and cold, any of you jokers take your dogs ice fishing? Or is that just one big pain in the @$$?

If you can't keep doggie from venturing to other peoples ice holes and possibly running thru their lines and set ups, I would not advise bringing. Unless of course, that is your plan with sconies.:;:stirthepot

I take my pooch ice fishing, he gets tied up if he heads towards other people, but I am more so a loner, so I try to go away from crowds.
I don't like being out fishing and some character comes over and starts up conversations. If I wanted to be in a group setting and answering questions, ect. I would have brought some friends with.
I like to not be bothered, drives me nuts when I see some clown walking over to where I am. I am polite of course, cause I am a western ND'r, but I don't like it. Usually I end up knowing the guy, or some of his friends, and we share an ice cold Busch light. haha sucks.

Jeeeeez, John.... anti-social ya are! Part of the recreation of ice fishing is comparing the amount of ice buildup from one guy's hole to the other, don'tcha know?

I haven't had my dog out ice fishing. Last year (he was four) he started bleeding from his paw pads. First time that occurred and I've since had a pair of blaze orange neoprene boots at the ready. I hope it was a one-time ordeal, but I'll keep him off the cold stuff as much as possible; not enuff room in the flip-shack for me and the dog.

I bring my pups ice fishing. I can sit them in the shack and they won't move until I say they can. If the bite is slow, I can even send them on a fetch and they'll pirate fish from unsuspecting folks more fortunate than I. Bet that will make you think twice about throwing your catch out the door to freeze! Boo-ya suckas!!!

Royce stays home generally unless galwhofishes goes along to babysit. I'm there to fish, not pay close attention to Mr. WhereCanIFindADoodooToEat?

I can literally feel the stress hormone Cortisol flow into my blood stream when I see someone walking over or hear them stop and walk up to the shelter. Honest Injun. :;:huh

yup me too, and its not a fear of bs'n with someone, as I do that all day for a living essentially, its the fact that I just want to be left alone. It is my time, I don't want any small talk or worse is when they give me advise on what I should be doing different.

I once told a guy I cant hear, and left my hearing aids at home, sorry to be rude but I just don't hear what you are saying...haha. He gave me the stink eye and walked off.

Now if I am boozing and in a big group whooping it up, I might be the douche that goes around hassling the other local guys, but it is okay when I do it of course.

My dog's a pain out ice fishing. Constantly pulling the bobbers out of the holes, tangling lines, tripping tip ups....he stays home or in the truck.

If my dog is on the ice, I have a shotgun in my hand and not a fishing pole.
