If his tail was bobbed he would look like a black German Shorthair. Thats coming from a guythatbobstails.

My shorthair is almost solid black, he has very minimal ticking on his chest and a bobbed tail. phenomenal bird dog, he is sadly my last, so I hope to get 12 more years out of him.

This is my sons first rooster, shot at about 30 yards in 40mph winds. You can see he likes to stick it to the old man with an effing packers shirt. The dogs tail is cut out of this picture, and if it was in the picture it would be cut about 4 inches long. Stubby like his owner.
