I hope NDGF is aware of this. Michigan eradicated 95% of mussels on a reef in Lake Michigan. This might be an answer to the zebra mussel problem in the eastern lakes.

Best news I've heard in quite a while. If you can believe the documents concerning the pesticide mentioned in the article, it seems to be a good product for controlling these invasive critters.

That is my understanding as well. It does improve on the other methods currently used. For a localized infestation caught early or a small lake it may be the trick to preventing further spread in the near term.

imagine having to use boxes lowered onto the ground and soaking the ground inside the box with pesticide to control an invasive weed - box by box by box
