Ready! Set! AIM Weekend Walleye Series
Announces Tournament Sites For 2019

Ok, time to get to work. Start planning. Find the spots that you think will hold those winning walleye. Because the 2019 AIM Weekend Walleye Series tournament series schedule is here.

Locations span the gamut, from water that AIM anglers and Fan Nation are familiar with, to others that are brand new to the series, says AIM National Tournament Director Denny Fox.

“We’ll be going to quality walleye water, some where we’ve been, some totally new. Teams, get your game faces, and your game plans, ready. I’m already looking forward to those big ‘eyes we’ll be seeing,” Fox says.

Here’s that list:
Wisconsin
April 7 Fox River, Green Bay
April 28 Wolf River system, Winneconne
May 19 Bay of Green Bay, Marinette
June 23 Lake Winnebago, Oshkosh
August 23-24 State Championship, Bay of Green Bay, Marinette

Minnesota
May 12 Mississippi River, Hager City, Alternate TBD
June 9 Mille Lacs, Alternate TBD
July 7 Leech Lake
July 28 Lake Vermilion, at Fortune Bay Casino
August 16/17 State Championship, Lake Bemidji

North Dakota
May 12 Lake Sakakawea, New Town
June 16 Audubon, Totten Trail
June 30 Lake Sakakawea, Garrison
July 14 Lake Oahe, Hazelton
August 3-4 State Championship, Devils Lake

National Championship Shootout
May 31-June 1 Lake Oahe, Bismarck-Mandan

“You’ll notice that two events have possible alternate locations,” Fox points out. “That’s to make sure, for instance, that we’ve covered the possibility of high water on the Mississippi for both entrants and us as we get closer to the date.”

“All these sites have both great facilities and fantastic walleye fishing,” he adds. “We will let everyone know the specifics as we head into 2019. Watch for registration dates to be released soon.”

And don’t forget that big AIM National Championship Shootout on the Missouri River when launch at Bismarck-Mandan, North Dakota at the end of May. Somebody there trailers home a new Warrior 1898 DC/ 150 Yamaha four-stroke/Garmin Electronics package worth more than $50,000.

AIM’s Facebook site will have more info about next season soon. For info on all AIM events, including how to register for next year, go to aimfishing.com.

Not knocking or bashing anything here because I've fished a few of these and love the format but...This upcoming season's schedule won't allow me to fish any of these...No early river to start the season and no Devil's qualifier makes it tough for me and my partner to partake this season. I also see an issue possibly with the "Oahe" date. I like the idea of having one on Oahe but bottlenecking those boats at Hazelton to make a long run south doesn't make sense to me. Possibly guys will be on fish further north but my experience leads me to think Beaver would have been a better choice. Also, I received the email stating weekends they wanted to avoid but sure seemed to be based around activities already scheduled in the NW part of the state as well as who gives 2 craps about the Warrior Boat Owners tournament in MN on August 10th, don't they have their own AIM season? These are again my opinions and was looking forward to the dates and locations to be released and unfortunately for this team we will not partake.
I've also talked with a few other guys that have fished the AIM series the past few years and all I can say is you will be seeing some new blood towards the top of the TOY standings as there are more than 1 team that won't be fishing this series this year either....

I can tell you the reason for the warrior tournament thing, it is because the owners of warrior are the ones who started the aim series and the major sponsor. Avoiding dates with other tournaments is because they want attendance, it doesn't matter where the tournament is it'll pull potential people away. Don't worry crank I'll take your spot this year because it works well for me.

The core teams that fish all the time had input into the 2019 schedule. So if some don’t like it as you say, they must have simply got out voted. I’m not sure what you mean by the TOY top teams not liking it. I can say for fact most I’ve spoken with like it. There’s no possible way to appease everyone. There’s too many weekends booked and the G & F are getting tougher to work with every year as to locations and dates. The river event would be looked down upon early as the national championship is on that body of water end of May. So that only makes sense as not to create a conflict with the teams from the other two states.

I think they should get rid of the sakakawea and oahe tourney's and add sweet briar, bowman-haley, and Ashtabula.....

The wife and I will likely do the series next year. Those locations and dates work perfect for us.
Kind of looking forward to it.

I think it would be a lot neater if we could keep the ANS where it is at. :)

Sorry for upsetting you with the boat I drive and the location of my residence... no I didn't make the schedule and I also didn't choose my boat for the aim tournaments, it does make me want to fish them through

May you all be blessed with line in your props, flat tires at the boat ramp, and hefty fines when your trailer lights don't work.
