When you start to see frogs the likes of which are spoken of in scriptures hopping across the roads and yards in their annual migration to the waters from the fields is about the right time to start flailing the rivers for fall walleyes. The frogs tend to get them closer to shore and in the eating mood. Good Luck!!

thank you, I’ve seen videos of people catching tons of walleye on frogs during fall so I might have to try that if artificial doesn’t work

I sure miss the "Ms. Piggy" stories that were once told from a Red River guru. I cant remember his name now... I know he ended up drowning doing what he loved. Sad time for all of us former Fishing Buddy members

Backwater eddy, was one of the most knowledgeable red river fishermen around along with capt Brad. Beleive backwater eddy worked at gander mt.

I will second KDM on the frogs. When I used to fish the Sheyenne in the fall starting about this time of year we used to use frogs a lot. Would keep a couple 5gal pale and nets on the hay tractors and catch frogs on a little break when we were seeing a lot. Was mostly catfishing but would catch walleye in the same area's or just off the slack water and in a current seam.
