Great vid. I remember first hearing about variable geometry (swing-wing) and thinking it was the coolest thing ever. It really IS a do-everything idea.

Was working with one of the one night. Came in 50' off the surface of the sea and popped the nose up and lit the afterburners. Lit the whole sky. Also knocked my C.O. out of his bunk. Got bitched out a bit over that. Still, was amazing to see. Pretty quiet coming in on cruise.

Worked the F-111D for my entire USAF "career" '81-'85. Avionics Tech. 27TFW, 522AMU. Cannon AFB, Clovis, NM. Unfortunately for me, Cannon was the only place that had the D model that I was trained on, so I never got to go anywhere else except a couple TDY's. Really enjoyed working on a bad ass bird but the military way of life, not so much. In the video, there is a flight of 4, CC on the tail. Those were birds I have personally worked on. Some nice memories. 133 was the wing commander's bird. Best one in the squadron. Too bad it's retired now as it really filled a spot in our country's military might.
