Has anyone installed one of these? Easy job? Annoying job? Any brand better than the others?

I have forgotten to put my drain plug in a couple of times in my life and think this is a cheap fix for my occasional airheadedness.

And I’m lazy at the lake so I like the idea of this.

I had a Digger Bail-R-Matic. Biggest waste of money. Replaced it with a Flow-rite and no complaints. The bail-r-matic would get weeds stuck in it and let water in the boat all the time.

I hung my drain plug outside my hull on a cable. It’s hanging right there by the drain when I remove the motor support. In 15 years I forgot the plug once - luckily realized it in time to trailer up so I avoided wading in or being a magician and reach down inside.

Yar-Craft is installing the flow-rite at factory now, and TBH, I hate it. Even with copious amounts of cleaning and Vaseline, it truly never seems to want to release, I have to pull it with a pliers every time. I'm ready for them to go back to a manual plug again.
