Keep the political threads in the politics section.
There are very few outdoor sites that allow political banter AT ALL.
It has always been allowed here, with the agreement that those conversations would happen in the politics section.

Please adhere to that going forward.

In addition, I have asked, multiple times, for people to be civil in their conversations. That has gotten worse and worse. Going forward, the following will be expected:
be respectful and civil
stay on-topic
avoid posting spam or illegal content
refrain from personal attacks or harassment
no hate speech, or discrimination
no trolling, or intentionally provoking arguments or creating unrest within the forum

There will be little leniency, with this, going forward. Consequences will include being muted, long term timeouts, and/or being banned. (this includes the politics section)

These rules have been updated as of Sept. 19 2025.

Additionally: Political posts in the "what's new" area will no longer display, for now, along with the main page sidebar that showed recent political posts. If the community can improve how we have these conversations I will consider bringing them back. As for now, the political conversations will remain in the political section without a recent activity sidebar, and without their posts in the "what's new".

Good to see you're getting DJT. You know I've bitched about it.

Are there consequences for not following the directive? Not asking to be a jerk, asking because folks don't seem able to care enough to follow through sometimes (a lot of times).

I've been guilty and will pay closer attention to it. Hope others do as well.

There are a few memes that are funny as hell that are at times somewhat political and other times full on political. So no political memes in the all ha ha's thread?

I agree, but I didn’t start it, again.
