Even if the $ 20 plan works only half as good as the $ 90 plan I'd still go for the $ 20 plan if it would run a couple security cameras

I plan to build on a lot but not until next summer at the earliest, in the mean time, I stay in my camper quite a bit and would like to have internet.
Its possible that if fiber is in the area, NDTC may be able to get you a post that you then can lay something on top of the ground into your camper. I have hooked up campers before where we run the slide out in a few inches and fish the fiber around the seal and then put the slide out back out, works pretty good and doesnt involve drilling holes. Biggest problem is having to deal with the line on the ground. Most coops are pretty willing to help you get what you need if it means another internet connection. Another option would be to rent or hire a private contractor to open a trench up from the fiber vault to your camper that NDTC can put the fiber in. Fiber is cheap, $0.40/ft range so if it ends up being abandoned, you arent out much in the grand scheme of what you get out of it.

Assuming you have a capable mobile phone you could do mobile hotspot. If not included on your current plan mobile hotspot can likely be added for less than a standalone cellular connection like the T mobile option.

Of course this would only provide a connection when your phone is present so would not help if you're looking to remotely monitor cameras or other connected devices.

Starlink all the way. Use it several months a year in the middle of nowhere ice fishing and camping. Can stream on multiple TV using streaming stick or Roku with no issue. I have been impressed with it even in bad weather. This was at Devils Lake. 282 mbps download and 23mbps upload

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to try the $20 tablet plan from t mobile just to see what it's like and upgrade from there. I like the thought of unlimited Internet anywhere vs only one location.

We have though about Starlink because when camping in the boonies we see other campers with it. Two years ago when the wife and I flew into a little Arctic town ( population 11 ) people were using Starlink.

I have Starlink roam for our sprinter camper van. Pay to use it when needed, turn off the service when not needed, and take it anywhere. Works flawless. We even use it when driving sometimes.
