Smell of rain??

Can anyone explain the smell of fresh rain? I'm about 10 miles north of Fargo in the garage having a drink and tinkering. See some drops hitting the driveway, go out and get that complete fresh rain smell. I love it!! Maybe my senses are heightened cause that drink I mentioned earlier is actually my 3rd or 4th? That is all. Enjoy
