Did you get some good stuff from the locals?

An Iraqi brought us a platter to the search pit one day and I didn't realize just how hungry I really was. Stewed meat, rice, flat bread and salad with the reddest tomatoes I'd seen in years. He was a Christian and I hope he is still well.[/QUOTE]

This was about the same thing I got. I tell you one thing, if those booger eaters over there would pull there wrapped heads out of their azzes, they could make a mint selling that flat bread. MAN was that stuff AWESOME!!!!!!! Mostly stewed or roasted mutton/goat was the main course with rice and sometimes steamed veggies and of course that wonderful bread. I'd buy that stuff at the bazaars all the time and take back to my hooch.

If I could make venison taste like that goat or whatever and duplicate that texture; I'd be in hog heaven. I BELIEVE I detected some cinnamon?...very faint

ABSOLUTELY!!! If there was a restaurant that could make that kind of food, I'd be a VERY loyal customer. Hated just about everything else about that "blankety, blank, blank, suck fest of a blankety blank place, but the local food was knock you the titty sprinkle out good. I guess the bazaars were interesting too. I liked the gemstone stands and the fur sellers stands the most. Bought fur coats for all the women in my family while I was there. Tried to intervene every time a guy or gal would get talked into buying a huka. The salesman always seemed to leave that little tidbit about NOT being able to ship those things home or take them on any military or military contract aircraft.
