really I never see any one and there is a lot of public land you know how to read the atlas Sherlock. I know of three deer over 180 that came off public land last year but you have to get out of the pick up to find them.

The way it works on the Rez. is like this. If you're a Native, ONLY BIA cops can arrest and charge you, no matter the crimes, hunting violations included. IF, the crime is big and bad enough, the FBI is called in, and they only seem to only want to deal with MAJOR crimes. Anything less than murder and it's just ahhhh...... let em go. You can't believe what some people "get away with" around here.

So this will go one of two ways. Either the BIA will charge him, not sure on what, shooting livestock? Or, the Feds will charge him. The best think the landowners can do is turn it into insurance, and chalk it up to cost of doing business on the rez. Sad but true.

a trophy is what one wins for accomplishing more than his competition, a trophy deer rack is by no means something the hunter accomplished, the animal did all the work, the hunter did some scouting, put a bit of time in, owned some land, etc... but taking a “wall hanger” is neat and all, but it’s not like you won the Super Bowl.

Obi,thats the sad part of this situation,"if" infact he is native he's know's "they (natives) all know they'll walk with just a slap on the wrist its in your face deal by the natives,we have it goin on here in Mn only today and last several years its over walleyes dumping piles of mostly walleyes on public roads for all to see nothing becomes of it,you folks are dealing with big game ,our natives are deliberate hunting,netting gathering off reservation hoping to get busted/tagged for their day in court wanting off reservation rights all while collecting federal$ and double down with huge casino cash annually its a bad situation for all.

Even in alaska seen it myself,I lived in a small town outside of anchorage,wilst driving to catch a plane to work on the slope got caught up in a traffic jam,natives pulled up to a moose cow n calf along side the road while tourists were gawking/taking pictures,natives shot em both on the spot,this was years ago ,nothing became of this episode except for alot of local grumbling like here on this issue "if" infact dickhead shooter is native

because they have off reservation rights. Supreme court ruled in their favor. Don’t be quick to judge all natives. Just because one guy gets caught that doesn’t give you the right to put blanket statements over every native. There’s a lot of native hunters who hunt more ethically than any other hunter and follow regulations to the T.
