[h=3]22. South Dakota[/h]
  • Firearm deaths per 100,000 people: 13.5 per 100,000
  • Total firearm deaths 2016: 108 (suicides: 84, homicides: N/A)
  • Violent crime rate: 418.4 per 100,000 (19th highest)
  • Permit required to carry handgun: Yes
  • Poverty rate: 13.3% (24th highest)

[h=3]34. Illinois[/h]
  • Firearm deaths per 100,000 people: 11.6 per 100,000
  • Total firearm deaths 2016: 1490 (suicides: 506, homicides: 944)
  • Violent crime rate: 436.3 per 100,000 (16th highest)
  • Permit required to carry handgun: FOID Required
  • Poverty rate: 13.0% (24th lowest)

This just shows you that any statistic can be twisted to fit ones narrative.

The fact that they count suicides is such a crock of shit! then even worse they almost always compare America's gun deaths including suicides against places like Britain where they don't count a gun death unless the person who pulled the trigger is found guilty. Doesn't matter how the person died even if they were shot by a gun if no one is arrested or no one is found guilty it's not listed as a gun death.......so yeah that's almost going to come out close!

So south Dakota has 77% suicides making up their number whereas il has 63% homicide.

Gun violence and poverty level are both similar. I wonder how that correlates threw out all the states?

One of my favorite quotes:

"There are 3 kinds of lies;

Lies, Big lies, and Statistics" Mark Twain

If there's a graph involved, I am even more skeptical.
