Spam phone calls!

"Answer", hit "###" in rapid succession--"hang up". It knocks them off the internet (or DID). It takes about 20min to re-establish connection. TIME is "their" money.

I got this tip from Mike Rowe on GG. I don't know how long this will last or if it works with idiot rectangles. It DOES reduce landline BS almost 100%. You (as of now) may have to ZAP a few times every couple months.

The idea that answering a scam call and immediately pressing "###" or "#9#" to "knock them off the internet" or terminate their service is a myth and will not stop scam callers. [1]

My in-laws, both in their mid 80's refuse to answer any call that they don't recognize the number. Since they do not have any names entered into their phone, and refuse to let us enter them, they rely on a hand written list they keep on the table. When the phone rings they look at the number and then look through the list before they answer it, so as you can imagine it takes them forever answer. This refusal to answer the phone has been causing problems with them missing doctor appointment among other things.

Another thing the father in-law refuses to do is leave his cell phone on, he is convinced China is tracking all cell phone calls and movements. when I questioned him on this his response was " I don't want China to know where I do my shopping or buy my beer ". I can not convince him that China is not interested in the calls and movements of an 85 year old with a flip phone.
