last year I planted 10 6-9 foot tall evergreens. I staked them last year. this year I took the stakes out. Now I'm questioning whether I took the stakes out too early. How long do you guys normally stake your trees.

i planted smaller trees so didn't need staking. I guess just see what happens when the wind blows. Might have to restake some?

One year should be enough. The root system needs the wind stress while the tree is young. If you start to see a port or starboard list on a tree, replace the stakes. Aren't trees fun???
