Have a few 3 day weekends planned throughout. Other than that, hit the lake as many weekends as possible, or when it rains here, but not in DL.

My line of work will never let me go camping that much in the summer. I try to keep stores supplied with a product all campers use to keep the beer cold.
So while all of you are out there fishing and camping think of us guys that are keeping the ice supplies built up in the stores.

The name of the game for you younger people is, you have to stay at one place of employment for a long period of time to accumulate vacation. I've been at my current place of employment for 17 years, and in a round about way got transferred form "The mother ship" as we call it to this job, so I've basically been with the same company for 28 years. I receive 5 weeks vacation, and 4 floating holidays. The rules are use it or loose it. This job is in the Ag industry, so you basically work your ass off for 3 months out of the year, and then its not so hard of a job.

We didn't park the camper for the season like we have for the last few years.
I spent 4 days in Fagro with the camper parked at my sisters house this last weekend, then in 11 days we head to fargo again for our daughters fast pitch allstars game. The next week we leave Wednesday night for Rapid city, for 3 days of personal fun time, then a fast pitch tourney again for the weekend, 4th of July weekend at Mckenzie bay for 4 days, the next weekend back to fargo for softball tourney, the next weekend at Buffalo Gap for the American Jam music fest for 3 days of camping and beer drinking, then a weekend off and up to indian hills for a 3 day camp with some good friends. Then to Sturgis for a weekend in the hills capping it off with the Kid Rock concert Sunday night, then riding home Monday afternoon.

Then after all of this maybe some time at the lake in august putting the boat to use.

Kids in traveling sports, a new bike, and a job really screw up my time at the lake fishing. I am going to go with just the boat this sunday, and try to sneak in a during the week trip here and there.

I got 10.4 MPG with the big Ford this last weekend, so it cost me $125 to pull the camper to Fargo, much cheaper and convenient than renting a room for 3 nights.

I used to install siding, and I too could take time off any time I didn't want to make money. Any old time I wanted, as long as I had food in the fridge.

we camp about 50-60 days starting usually in april/may, and ending in October, then if I draw a buck tag its usually another 10 days. not working Fridays and being with the same company for over ten years lets me get away during the summer. Shitty part is out of those days camping I usually only get get to fish 30-40.

The camper is rolling almost every weekend from may until the end of august these days with the kid's motocross schedule and fishing tourneys.
Plus you throw in the family camping and holiday trips. With my shift work schedule I get half the year off already without taking a day of vacation. And with the vacation I've accrued over 20 years a person can take a good chunk of the summer off, but there's still hunting trips in the fall as well.

Just wish I had a big diesel like Johns, that would be nice pulling that parachute around ha ha! But with the F250 being paid for for so long and never giving me one bit of trouble I can put the extra gas into it! But someday I'm getting me a new diesel rig that's for sure.

The things that I could get done/do with half of the year off!
