Now that this has passed, do you still need to do the background check every time you buy a firearm or will you just "be in the system"?

Just tell them either way, if you don't have one, then you say, Oh I guess I must have taken it out of the vehicle.

So now do you become a criminal if you do not disclose the concealed weapon to a police officer during a stop?

What happens if you forgot you had it under the seat or in the glove box?

Yes you do........that is why the ND Peace Officers and the Sherriffs Association were in favor of the bill. Peace officers worked with the house to get that included. The Sheriffs Association testified for the bill in the Senate Committee hearings. Zero Law Enforcement testified against it.

Also don't forget that blades over 5" can be considered weapons (At least that's my understanding). We're nearly all guilty of having a fillet knife or hunting knife with us a lot of the time.

This law doesn't have anything to do with purchasing of guns.

How would the new bill effect reciprocity with other states? if your ND license is only good in ND, it's not of much value.

Not that you need one here in AZ (we have constitutional carry) but AZ does recognize your right to carry.

Are you serious? If so yes! If not good one! You are not getting a permit with this law you are simply able to exercise the right to carry a concealed weapon under nd and us constitution, mostly nd constitution. If you want reciprocity in other states to carry by their laws or to just show your cwp when purchasing a firearm at a majority of dealers you will need to pay the fees and do the necessary courses.

No

Has nothing to do with buying or back ground checks for gun purchases only being able to carry concealed if you are not forbid to do so.

One still needs to know and follow all Concealed carry laws and rules to do so just doesn't require a permit.

There is zero reciprocity with this it is for in state carry only and only to those 18 years old with a valid ND ID and a resident of ND for at least a year.

This is a very good question. It is nice to walk into a gun store fill out the form and put down the CC permit. No phone call
