Tagged Fish

Has anyone on here cought a tagged fish that had a reward on it. I have turned in a handed full the last few years and have not seen or heard of any one that's turned one in that was worth money.

If they are money tags it will say reward on the tag. I have caught 10 and only 1 has been a reward.

I caught one last July. They sent me the sheet with tagging information on it within a week, but I have yet to see my $$$ . . .

I know this has been hashed out before, but just so everyone is aware NOT every tagged fish is a reward fish. If the fish you catch has a tag that reads REWARD $100 on it, you are in the money. If your fish has only a phone number and tag number, then unfortunately the tag isn't worth any money, but the information you can provide is worth as
much to the students/agency performing the study.

I have never caught a tagged fish, shot a tagged pheasant, duck or goose. What does everyone do with them? I feel like it would be a prized possession worthy (if decent enough animal) mounting.

That or the tag has to be verified by an agency official.

I would think you would have to have some proof of actually having the band in your possession or sending it in.

If there is a reward simply for catching/reporting, then someone should catch the fish, write down the tag information, share it with all of us on NDA. That way we can all say we caught, then released the $100 fish and want our reward for reporting!

The reward band HAS to be taken in. Not sure if you can send it? I never did get the info on my reward band, but the one I got that had no reward I got the info on that.
