My uncle. Born in Iceland. Was really too old. After basic they said he could stay in the Army. He did not have to go overseas.

My mother did 35 years Army Reserve. My Cousin did 10+ years and three tours overseas. Shout out to them - always a special day for us to remember and thank them. And now that my son is old enough, its interesting and fulfilling to teach him about veterans and what they sacrificed.
