If its the temp driving "The Bite" you should have it figured out by this weekend. Starting Wednesday 87, 95, 98, 95. With overnight lows in the mid 60's.

HVAC guys should be getting some business.

Of course the fish are always biting somewhere, but there's always a period where it turns on like crazy and they literally jump in the boat. Usually happens over night starting at the hook, it's just weird it hasn't started yet. Any day now you'd think. People who fish there regularly know what I'm talking about.

IMO - the east end starts in July - the big bite -- any die off of smelt will be gone or rotting by then. As with any body of water - the water has to warm up

Again, the die off of smelt from Douglas to the damn was very minor. U could only see dead ones for a short period of 4-5 days. And yes they would be rotten and gone by July, they were gone weeks ago already, and I haven't seen another dead one since.

If your good with a jig. Stay away from other boats. Smart enough not to put the boat on top of the Walleye. The bite is on!!

I wish I was a better jig fisherman... i do a lot of trying tho. sigh....
