So I got off work a little early..
Headed to tobacco gardens north of watford city.

I was #2 to launch waiting in line with everyone else (you can launch 2 at a time so it was pretty quick wait. I had everything done for launch as well.

As I was backing my boat down 2 guys were coming in from the bay and he dropped one guy off just about as boat wheels touched the water.... well I has my windows down and he starts yelling how he was there first and I have to wait for them to load there boat! As there was still a line up top....

Well I told him common courtesy states if your loading and have 2 people to drop one guy off to go get the trailer and wait for him and that you must get in line with everyone else!

He called me a jacka $$ and even other name in the book I went ahead and launched anyways... he threatened to hit my boat .......

I'm still flustered over it....

He's an a$$hat. Tell him to p!ss off and go about your way. If he hits your boat make sure you make the insurance claim worth it.

Should have called him a rookie out of stater. The locals know how it works and they need to learn too. These jack offs ruin it for everyone else.

Ya they like to sit on the side of the dock and then proceed to wing their boat on for 10 min.

You should have turned their boat number in. It's a game warden ass chewing that may get through those thick heads

Just so I get this straight...a douchebag coming in OFF the water thinks he gets to load first, when there are others trying to unload??? LOL he's a piece of work, don't work that way I'm afraid. Even tho I don't have a boat, I have the common sense to know how it works.

You're in the right. The waiting line is on the ramp, not the water. In short, he's a knucklehead.

You are correct! People should watch boats being unloaded/loaded at a big tournament to learn how it's done. Person on the dock is a jerk!!

Crazy deal, Were these young kids or old guys? Did they seem drunk ? I had an 3 arrogant pricks pull around me and go first once but I was so happy just to be going fishing and I wasn't in a hurry so I just blew it off. I guess that's the wrong attitude because as long as they know they can get away with it once they will keep doing it.

If I'm approaching the dock and I see boats up on top but no ones backing up on my side , I'm ok to dock and load. But if a truck is coming backward to launch he has the right away. Is that correct?

Pretty much, and if you have someone with to back the tow vehicle in, don't tie up the dock on the ramp waiting for the tow vehicle. I always use the courtesy dock if one exists. Main problem there is with water levels what they are, there is not enough room for more than a couple boats waiting, imagine it has been fun watching today. Maybe they got the scoria ramp working.

Man I hate garbage like that. It always seems to fly out of nowhere when you haven't got a care in the world. What's a guy supposed to do; remain in condition "orange" at all times and have a stroke? I wish you would've "felt threatened" and pepper sprayed his ass then called a warden. I"m not armchairing you at all. I've been there and spent days kicking myself about what I could've done or said differently.

I know the manly response is "break his jaw" but the liberal/progressive law currently protects the aggressor and in a million thoughts per second leads a sensible individual to retract like a turtle to protect resources: Pisses me off as an armed society is polite.

Things are a "bit better" if you're an on-duty policeman but in this situation one has to be cognizant of national media attention and burning cities.

Lincoln, kinda...
We'd all like our own personal ramps.

Something to that effect is how I would have put it.

I was out at a smaller lake today and had a fella coming off the water load his rig, then sit on the ramp packing everything up. I asked him if he could pull off the ramp so I could load my boat and he said he wanted to drain his livewell first. I just told him the gravel in the parking lot could use a shot of water. Wouldn't say he moved much faster, but sheesh. There were a couple boats waiting at that point to get off the water.

Note, we were both cordial to each other in our communications. Points can be made without pissing someone off.

Majority of the issues at boat ramps is the pushy baby boomer generation especially the older booms. Next time u have an issue look who is causing it.
