UPDATE:

anything less than a total eclipse is a letdown

yep, luckily it isn't another 38 year wait for the next one. Time to make plans to head east for the full eclipse in 7 years.

Everyone should mail their eclipse glasses to Kim Dum Cum or whatever the North Korean whack job's name is... Include a note, in case of nuclear war... wear and pray..

well i feel cheated. cloudy for most of it. but, we had a break in the clouds for the peak. and it was pretty short lived. i didn't feel a temperature drop and it sure as shit didn't get any darker than your typically cloudy day... which it already was. to top it off, my 2 pairs of sunglasses didn't work as i had hoped and i didn't have time to go home for the welding gear. and i think my eyes are a bit mad at me.

They say you have to be above 80% to see much of any dip in the amount of light and even here at 84% it was pretty minimal. If no one had said it was coming I doubt many would have even noticed.

In Bismarck, we definitely noticed it getting darker. Kind of a weird glow outside.

I had a total. Took a nap and its dark inside my eye lids and I can do it again Tuesday. Don't have to wait 29 years or maybe again later today.

North of Gillette Wyoming it's was quite amazing wish I knew how take better pics becuase this pic doesn't do justice as to how amazing it was. They were charging like 1500 dollars a room in Casper. Got to see 95 percent of the eclipse as the moon crossed the in front of the sun. I thought it would of crossed straight across the face of the sun but more of a downward path from west to south east.

Wouldn't that be funny shit? Start a website with the theme of mailing eclipse glasses to Kim Jung Un with a note that says, "you're going to need these. -America" or just "Soon. XOXO, America" That would go viral in a hurry and be hilarious, up until the nuclear holocaust.
