So i just bought a traeger grill... printed off some recipies from there website... WTH!! dose anyone there proof read stuff!! ;:;banghead

First recipe...

http://www.traegergrills.com/recipes/baked-goods/apple-cinnamon-bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. White Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda

  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 cup White Sugar

  • 1/2 cup Solid Vegetable Shortening, such as Crisco
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 Large Baking Apples, such as Granny, Peeled, Cored, and Finely Diced
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts, Coarsely Chopped

Part of instructions :

Quote "Combine the topping ingredients in a small bowl and set aside."

Well ok.... maybe being more specific like WHICH INGREDIENTS ARE THE TOPPING INGREDIENTS!!

also in description it says
[h=2]This Traeger-baked cinnamon coffee cake is loaded with apples and grils upl super moist. [/h]

really... grils upl .... again no proof reading... but that's irreverent... right now

Second recipe I'm having trouble with ...

http://www.traegergrills.com/recipes/beef/egg-brisket-hash

[h=3]Ingredients[/h]
  • 2 cups Beef Brisket, cooked and shredded
  • 2 cups Hashbrown Potatoes, cooked
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Green Bell Pepper, diced

  • 1/2 cup Red Bell Pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup Yellow Onion, diced
  • 3 Tbsp Canola Oil

  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Pepper

[h=3]Preparation[/h] Place a cast-iron skillet on grill to pre-heat with grill.
When ready to cook, start the Traeger on Smoke with the lid open until a fire is established (4-5 minutes). Turn temperature to 450 degrees F and preheat, lid closed, for 10 to 15 minutes.
Place oil, peppers, and onion in the skillet; sauté until they are translucent.
Add garlic and cook 3 more minutes. Add cooked potatoes and brisket. Cook until the brisket is heated through, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle salt and pepper and stir. Enjoy!

Really... it calls for 3 eggs BUT DOESN'T TELL YOU WHEN TO ADD THEM!! ....

maybe I'm being picky.... but i want to know im doing the recipe right!!! is that so much to ask!!

Rant over...

After some deduction work and calculating.... figured on the bread the FIRST 3 INGREDIENTS are the topping ingredients... it still would be nice to just come out and say COMBINE FIRST 3 INGREDIENTS FOR TOPPING ... or something like that... but still the beef brisket hash.. the 3 eggs are still a mystery to me.. :;:deadhorse

I'm not writing professional material for my business... haha who cares about my proof reading... but seriously... the recipes are TERRIBLE!!! I'm stuck on the bread.... says to sift half the ingredients onto a wax paper... BUT DOESN'T SAY WHAT TO DO WITH THAT WAX PAPER AND SIFTED INGREDIENTS LATER... do i just leave it on my counter till the end of times???? seriously....

If you think those instructions are bad you need to check out some of the old German recipes.

You'll live a longer and happier life if you don't let little things like this get under your skin. :;:chillpill
