Virus Protection - PCmatic?

Anybody here use PC matic for virus protection? just saw one of their commercials on Fox Business, it was very pro America, pro America business/workers. I guess I was impressed......

are there some other good products besides Norton?

I think Norton is one of the worst out there. AVG has been what I've used for twenty years and never a virus. And it's free. Had to remove Norton and McAfee from many computers because they are such memory hogs. I bought a brand new Dell desktop in 07'. Would take five minutes to load a web page on the net. Was online with Dell for two damn hours and they couldn't figure it out. Next morning I decided it's probably just Norton. So I completely uninstalled it (in registry also) and never had an issue again. PC Matic sounds like the ticket. I'm going to give them a try to speed up an old laptop.

1) Antivirus - Avast is one of the best free ones, turn off daily notifications.
2) Malwarebytes - required for malware and adware. If you have "internet issues", probably install and run this.
3) Adblocker - on whatever internet browser you use

Dont click on dumb stuff and you will be set.

Very good advice. I've used Avast on my computers for years and regularly run Malwarebytes to just to be safe. Also run Adaware software as a backup to Avast. Usually you shouldn't run more than one antivirus program at a time but Avast and Adaware don't seem to conflict with each other. Both are free. Stay away from the all-in-one package programs like Norton and McAfee. They will bog down even powerful computers and if you want to get rid of them from your computer it will be as messy as trying to get gum out of a kids hair.
