"You can't rely on the federal government. You can't rely on the state government. That is my dream one day - that we get true sovereignty, true economic sovereignty - and we no longer rely on the outside world for our persistence," said Fox.

Huh? Ya right. If you really wanted to get off relying on the american taxpayer for support, it probably wouldn't take more than a phone call or two and people would line up to offer suggestions on how to make this happen in a hurry. Could probably even figure out how to give a state or two away that you can call your own country. The southern 1/4 of CA, AZ, NM and southwest TX would be a great piece of property to start a new country, completely free of any of the oppression and demands of the evil american taxpayers. Heck, could probably secure enough funding to build a nice large wall on your northern border to keep america out.

There is one player in this pipeline game that I don't think anyone is talking about Warren Buffet who's stands to lose lots of money.

Imagine the water contamination if an oil train were to derail on the bridge in Bismarck which is statistically higher in comparison to a pipeline leaking 90 feet under the river bed. Again as stated a few times already it isn't about the pipeline anymore I would have to partly agree with.

Not to mention it would likely destroy the bridge in the ensuing fire that tends to happen with this oil.

y guess would be that of the protesters actually do not even know where their water comes from nor who pays for it when they turn on the spigot.

They are merely the useful idiots of those with an anti fossil fuel agenda.

The awesome spelling and grammar in that post. I suspected whiskey, a phone post or a deaf siri. So, I started with whiskey.

The first sentence specifically

Oil trains will be nearly non existent when this pipeline goes into service. The railroads will be struggling along with the loading facilities. Time to divest in those companies.

Maybe but the big advantage of the trains is the ability to move product to who ever is paying the most at any one time. Its much harder doing that with piplines. We actually had spare room on some of the lines at the peak due to better bang for the buck with trains.

The oil guys are smart. They will pull back and wait until December when the frost is still shallow and winds are starting to get deadly cold. These idiots will all but be gone. They will come in with a temporary precast concrete structure for the boys to work in and by January things should be about buttoned up.

Sounds like the national guard is going to be called up when the judges decision is released.

I have lived along the Main east west BNSF rail line for about 18 years now right out my front window and it is amazing to see the transformation of what goes by on rail the last 4-5 years now with the war on coal due to shutting down so many coal plants across the country already. Used to be constant coal trains probably a 10 to one ratio of coal versus any other train. Now it is maybe 25% coal trains if even that much and a lot more oil trains but the amount of normal freight trains including grain into this has skyrocketed, was extremely rare to see a normal freight train now it seems about 50% of the rail traffic is just that.

I seen it was supposed to be ruled upon by midnight on friday. Does the judge wait til midnight to reduce conflict? If the NG waltzes in, I can't imagine its a good sign.
