Its tough to prove specific charges against specific individuals when you arrest dozens at a time. Trespass is the best option. But, without evidence of notice, even that charge gets sketchy.

99.9% of the protests were captured on video and there are multiple videos with LEO's informing protestors that they were on private property and would be arrested if they did not leave. Is it the lack of video or are they contesting that the law officers had the authority to ask them to leave the private property.

I doesn't do a ton of good to charge and fine these fools, as they have no money, or integrity either way. Sending them on down the road, and letting it be the next states issue is probably best. Us feeding and housing them in the clink for a few months would be a gift to most of them.

I drove from Bismarck to Mobridge and back yesterday, and saw for the first time, with my own eyes, where the protests took place. I'm sure that a LOT of work has been put into the site, but I was pleased to note that aside from some trampled prairie, the land looked pretty good. The area that the sacred stone camp was, is cleaner than a lot of the surrounding countryside.

Can't say I agree with that one Johnr..........what was your thoughts when that town in Colorado bought that bus ticket to Williston for that habitual offender rather than deal with him themselves? edit: Could have been Dickinson, been quite a few brain cells killed since that happened....;:;boozer

Nope, just passing through, for work. Hadn't been south of Huff Hills in a few years. Hadn't been south of Prairie Knights in probably 10 years. Hadn't been south of Ft Yates in probably 20 years.

thought maybe i met you but looked at card and different guy

Ah, nope. Drove a 3/4 ton diesel flatbed silver dodge down and back. Didja see me? Not a lot of people on that road. After Yates, on the way down, I stayed on 1806 and went through Kenel, and by Wakpala. Kinda makes Beirut seem like a nice place to visit.

Saw some buffalo I did. And coyotes, pheasants, an eagle snatch something out of a ditch at a high rate of speed....

Anybody know how Prairie Knights Casino is doing? Right or wrong, I hope people are still boycotting that place, at least until DAPL Dave is gone and they go smokeless. :;:smokin

I've camped out at Beaver bay a few times. I've seen a few seniors take the boat over but most trips have been empty.

On a side note does any one else pucker up when ever they see the seniors coming down the boat ramp? I'm always worried one of them are are going to slip and fall down.

Are the f'n kidding

"The EA is silent, for instance, on the distinct cultural practices of the tribe and the social and economic factors that might amplify its experience of the environmental effects of an oil spill. Standing Rock provides one such example in its briefing: many of its members fish, hunt and gather for subsistence"

That's right I forgot that they hunt buffalo in the spring and float the carcasses down river
