I heard him compared to Joe Flacco from Delaware and I think that's pretty accurate. Flacco has a stronger arm, Wentz runs better, both have the size the NFL wants.

With the way QBs are coveted now, and how no one drafts RBs anymore, he'll go 1st 2 rounds IMO. Look around the league,
not many teams have a great QB.

BGH Im saying the reason garoppolo went as high as he did is because he has a rocket arm and threw for 50+ TD his last season and over 5k yards in 14 games. maybe I am wrong and you guys are right and he will go on to be a 1-2 round pick, personally I don't think so, I think the way he locks on to receivers and doesn't set his feet well on the deep ball, and the way he doesn't feel pressure from his weak side and breaks contain when he could stay in the pocket and progress through his reads make him round 3-4 pick value and a project, if I had a pick in the top 60 I wouldn't use it on a project, but if I was say dallas in round 3-4 maybe I take a chance a guy could. just my opinion not dogging the guy
You obviously haven't seen him play very much. One of his big assets is read progression and pocket awareness. He stands in there and delivers an accurate ball under pressure better then just about every FBS QB out there. His arm strength is second to none and can zip the ball on out routes from the opposite hash. His deep balls are a bit inconsistent due to his footwork at times but I'd say he's way better then Teddy Bridgewater already. If you got time go back and watch the 2015 UNI @ NDSU game on you tube. The 4th quarter was epic and a great showcase of his talent.

Doesn't really matter where he is drafted as long as he gets drafted. I would like to see the kid get a shot wherever he goes. Doesn't matter how much talent you have if you don't get the opportunity to showcase it. I'm pulling for the kid. Who would have thought we would ever even have a discussion about a North Dakota kid being drafted in the NFL as a skill position player and not a lineman. Good for him. Ryan Leif, Jamarcus Russell, Vince young etc. all got drafted early and didn't have what it takes. Tom Brady was drafted in what the 7th round? Obviously Wentz isn't Tom Brady but the point is what you do with your opportunity is key, not what pick you were.

Just sr in Highschool through college is all probably 500 passes, if he is a round one pick and instant world beater I will buy the beers, if he is a project and rides the pine for 3 years and takes over for romo I will still by the beers, dudes a stud and since the time he signed with su I said he was the most talented of him Thornton and brock, but whatever see what happens in April and on, I haven't read what anyone is saying other than fancy hair at the beginning of the season. So we will just have to see.

The talent level teddy played in college is way better than anything ndsu played. So he is going to be a starting qb his second year in and on a division winning team. With talk like this it's time to step up to fbs I cheered for ndsu to win but some perspective is needed I would like to see them play any Sec team.

The two best mock draft gurus Mel kipper and Todd mcshey have him as the 3rd best Qb in all of college football and one has him going 15 to the Rams and the other has him going 31 to the cards. Both think he's first round talent and they know a lot more about reading talent than anyone on this board. Just saying.

Somebody did a comparison to teddy. If wentz got the protection (if we can call it that) Dat teddy had. Wentz would be laying on the ground

To be fair, both of those guys had all the talent in the world and just couldn't keep it together once they got to the league. Talent wise, their drafting wasn't a mistake (though I would accept the argument that Russel shouldn't have been drafted where he was). Leaf was a massive head case and Russel wouldn't stay in shape.

I didn't say anything about that, was simply talking deep ball accuracy. IMO Wentz is better then TB with the deep balls.

Everybody thinks the SEC is the end all be all of CFB but if you look closer it's really only a handful of teams any given year. Jacksonville State took Auburn to OT early in the year, NDSU clobbered JSU in the Championship game. IMO NDSU could handle the bottom 2-3 teams in the SEC maybe more. All comes down to matchups. NDSU's style of play wears on most teams much like Alabama's.

Anyway back on topic, Wentz will get a chance against better competition in the Senior Bowl but take that with a grain of salt too since they only have a week of practice and the plays are pretty dumbed down.
