A friend of mine that is 10 miles east of Bismarck has picked up 22 including 3 big bucks. They were getting 200+ a day in their yard. Another friend of mine has picked up 14 at his place SE of Sterling.

Well the big boys and the kids are normally the first to go in a bad winters. If they don't get a chance to recuperate after rut it can get pretty rough on those old boys.

Ya we found some nice sheds from bucks we let go and now have found three bucks with big pedicules dead. But one of the ones we wanted to see next year just dropped 2 weeks ago and looked pretty good.

Several bucks shot up here including the 3 we got had almost no fat on them which is very rare around here with the crops. They went into winter short and it seems to have showed as almost half of the dead deer we have found have been bucks.

Yeah that area really got especially hard hit by snow this year and even a couple days ago when everywhere else around bismarck was long since clear they were still working on their pile. So it's not surprising that there is some dead critters to go along with how bad it was there.
