Livetohuntandfish I can see your point and gst. I simply want to clarify that the gov does not do it for sport therefore the comparison to hunters can not be made.

I am sure the coyote appreciates that distinction upon who is killing him and why and how.

Not only NO, but "F" NO!!! I plant lots of trees and habitat for my critters and I don't want some DUMBASS chasing a F'n coyote with a vehicle mowing them over and causing all holy hell with everything else. Fences don't show up real well in the dark either. How about pop up blinds?? Blinds next to tree rows, sloughs and other cover are supposed to BLEND IN. NO THANKS!!! Let'em use lights, electronics, or calling from a FIXED point, but NOT a moving point.

I guess if we are going to start branding people in this thread too part of the reason we have such a coyote explosion is that every "dumbass" that buys a Fox Pro thinks he is the next Predator Nations superstar.

As long as those "stupid" "dumbasses" get to the point they know which button to push on the remote without having to look at the manual again they think they are the next Randy Anderson.

"Dumbasses" with their electronic calls have done more to educate and grow the coyote populations then those of us that grew up using hand calls 30 years ago.

And then throw in the AR with the 30 round clip where people think quantity is the answer over those of us with a single shot Ruger #1 in 220 swift are casuing educated coyotes that even us ethical experts that know it all can;t call in.

Ah what the hell let the population explode again, Ma Nature will use the mange and those coyotes are usually a bit hungrier so maybe even the fella with the old Johnny Stewart record player call might get one or two.

Well maybe you should have to go out and buy a few dozen large reflective signs to post around your property so those "dumbasses" don;t keep coming in and pestering your trees.

Wait........maybe that wouldn;t even stop them.

For those "dumbasses" that may not be perceptive enough :::;)

yes yes and yes. the asshats that would chase any other wildlife are already doing it so that isnt going to change. open the season after archery season let it run until snows gone close it down.

Inadvertent encounters by legal hunters would increase the overall stress.

im not saying it wont happen but id rather bump the deer than have the coyotes run them. with the deer herded up most people know where the herds are located and should and would avoid that area. i see more positives than negatives with this potentially happening

I've did on snowmobiles, and now I say No, when you look back it's a very cruel, buy yourself a good rifle learn how to call, and your $12,000.00 snowmobile is not worth wrecking for a $40.00 coyote

$12,000 sled and doing it in a "cruel" manner.............maybe there are "dumbasses" out there

Indeed far "crueler" than being chased down by a plane.

Seeing a baby calf being eaten alive is I guess not "cruel"............ya ya I know, natures way of doing things.

The difference between us and the coyote is us humans choose what is an "ethical" way to kill something. (at least most of us do) (but then again in some other humans eyes we do not, so are they right? )

But then we justify our ethical stance by saying when the govt does something it is not "hunting" but "population control" so it is alright, even though if we honestly look at it hunting is population control.

If most people were honest they would admit they did not care about maintaining a managable population of coyotes, or the impact an unmanaged population has (until they impact their ability for a deer tag) they just want to have their recreational opportunity. (don;t think so? Why do people want far more deer than can be sustained as a population just so they get a tag or maybe two or three tags?

I do not condone "cruel" actions to kill any animal. Efficient ways to manage populations to minimize impacts................

Don;t want "dumbasses" out there, allow permits for those areas with problems for those who are impacted.........3,2,1,

Shoulda stuck around for this one today. Had a friend in the committee meeting and it got pretty interesting. The Seirra Club, Wilderness Society HSUS and the NDG&F all working and conversing together to kill this bill. Funny bedfellows this state makes on issues involving ethics and hunting. TJ Jerke the lobbyist from HSUS was working with the G&F.

One game warden and one retired trapper testified it goes against God to hunt coyotes with snowmobile or planes for private people.........Apparently God has no issue with the govt doing it.

Yeah it was a shitshow, the Game & Fish is so worried about control, once again it's about the money. I was against it at first with dipshitery taking over but now after reading the posts if it would save taxpayer dollars to let us do some damage the way we know is effective the hell with it, but there has to be some limitations like were mentioned, after bow season through February or something like that. Everyone with a sled that hunts coyotes has already done it or at least 90% of them have and it sure beats paying some nimrod to fly over and shoot the hell out of them and leave them.
