The night of Thursday Oct 6, I was able to take the best white-tailed buck of my life...and to top it off I got it with a bow!
I am in my mid-50s and have hunted deer all my life, but mostly with a rifle.
My wife and I became empty nesters this summer and anticipating this life-change I returned to a long absence from bow hunting a few years ago.
I consider myself lucky to have a few close friends who have invited me to bow hunt with them on their properties, and without their help, I would never have had a chance at a deer like 'Big-boy.'
I want to thank them for all of the little things they did to help me take a magnificent animal!
I hate to admit it, but they really did all of the hard work, like putting up the stand, placing trail cams, helping me track the buck once I shot it and even taking a some great photos of me with the buck in the dead of night!
Thanks to them (and they know who they are), I will have some great memories every time I look up and see Big-boy on the wall.
