also notice the guy's hand go toward what appears to be his sidearm when that roo appears to be ready to commence to fighting - right towards the end before the roo thinks better of it

One kick from them rear legs would likely put a guy in the hospital. He was actually fairly lucky that dumb roo didn't seem interested in a fight.
Some damn kangaroo tries chocking out my dog, I would pick up a stick or something and get after it, again a kick to the sack would be epic failure

I think hand guns are not allowed in this country, in fact they might have long gun crazy laws too.

No damn 'roo is going to get my dog. I would have reacted similar then told myself later that it probably wasn't the wisest move.

I am not a kangaroo expert, but that choke hold seems to be common in kangaroo fights. Lucky dog, and lucky guy. That roo could have kicked both their behinds.

No guns for civilians in Australia anymore, btw.

I probably would have hit him with a left hook after the right just to assert my dominance. But, that's just me.

I also would have opted for a combo rather than a one poke.

yeah he's pretty luck the roo didn't want to fight. Their back legs are crazy powerful...they use their tail as a balance and rear back and kick. They can break bones as well as disembowel with claws. Man vs wild animal rarely ends well for man. No matter what species.
