Never said it was "The Best", said it was my favorite primarily due to that very short stroke.Oh, I don’t know about the BL22 being the best .22 lever gun.

I’m not sure what it is, but I always thought the old 783 was an exceptionally handsome rifle. I’m still on the lookout for a nice one to add to my collection.I agree with the Marlin micro-groove rifling for rim-fire.
I've got a Marlin 783 WMR that will surprise you just how accurate it is---unbelievable!
Rocking open sights and all.Working near Hillsboro today, out in the country .
Home owner said her yard is infested by the Little Red Demons.
My old clunky Marlin 81 has been good today. 5 shots/ kills.

My Marlin 721 bolt will easily group in a .30cal hole @50 if it get's a lot# it likes. If I get a group any bigger than a dime, I immediately know it's the ammo or me. Best 150 I've ever spent in 1997.I agree with the Marlin micro-groove rifling for rim-fire.

It's been 20+yrs. What's your opinion about pulling some patches/a nylon brush? (Micro-grove)I’m not sure what it is, but I always thought the old 783 was an exceptionally handsome rifle. I’m still on the lookout for a nice one to add to my collection.
My BL22 isn't nearly as smooth as my 9422's or 39A's. Also, as a plus size individual, I find the BL22 a little small to comfortably handle. Cool design tho.100% easily my favorite lever action 22! Nothing else lever action is even close IMO, that short-stroke is MAGIC!!
You must have gotten the only BL-22 that isnt smoother than a 9422 or 39A. I remember my kids shooting my BL-22 as young as 7 or 8 yrs old and had no problem cycling it. At that age they would have never been able to cycle the other two.My BL22 isn't nearly as smooth as my 9422's or 39A's. IDK, maybe it's due for another cleaning but I'm just not overly impressed with it.You must have gotten the only BL-22 that isnt smoother than a 9422 or 39A. So I have eaten rabbit but never squirrel. I realize it’s very popular in the south and east and wouldn't be opposed to trying it. Any way on the new season of Clarkson's Farm one episode he held an unusual food night in his restarunt where he had his chef make all kinds of organ meat and other foods that people arent used to eating. And when the people tried the squirrel they said the meat wasnt bad but that the smell almost made them puke. And this wasn't just one person it was alot of them. I had never heard that before and have watched chef andrew zimmern cook it and he never commented on it so I was wondering if it’s actually a thing or just people over reacting.
The cats?I skinned a squirrel once with all the intentions of eating it. It looked so much like a rat the cats got it.
I’ve heard they’re quite tasty!
