I was fortunate enough to hunt some fantastic land in the badlands this fall with my brother and two friends. We came home empty handed in the deer department, but had a great time none the less. My brother and I both got to draw on a deer, but couldn't get the rest of the dominoes to fall into place.

After a rough walk in, we spotted this guy. I'm pretty positive we kicked him up just before day break. This spot is 3 miles from the initial sighting.

We ran into plenty of these guys over the four days of hunting.

These four does didn't like that we were watching them from a 1000 yards.

We were able to blast a few prairie dogs one afternoon.

Hope you enjoy.

Not where I'd like to be
Spot and Stalk bow hunting mulies in the open country is tough, but very rewarding when it comes together.
If nothing else, it's always an adventure.
It's been a couple years since I've connected with one. Gonna take another run at it in the Pierre area next week.
I hope to have a post about it.

I can't believe you brought a MN to hunt in our Badlands. I have a brother in MN too. I know better. At least you converted him, I'll give you that.

Many thumbs up! Thanks for sharing.

I haven't made it out there this year yet and probably won't get there, but it never gets old looking at badlands pic, even better when taking them yourself.

Great job on the pics DM. I don't hunt, but the scenery nearly makes me want to take it up. After the divorce, I'd have plenty of free time.
