News article said that the now struggling casino received $3.2 million of the gofundme donations the tribe recieved from sympathizers. So that's where your "water protector" donations went, to prop up the indian casino.

Let me clarify: the Christian thing to do would be to cut off all public funding to the tribe. It is a cesspool. It's not even enabling them at this point, it's mugging all of us to promote and encourage the worst in humanity. Let this generation of natives be the last that suffer the slow miserable indignity of life without meaning. Let the church care for those who require care. Let the rest leave the reservation to live and work and lead normal productive lives. That place is so screwed up I don't even know where to begin. I much prefer living and working with natives to subsidizing their destruction for another 200 years.

How long is the US Taxpayer suppose to keep paying them? Does anyone know for sure? I would think after 150+ years this should be done with.
To me if you want to be "sovereign" then be sovereign 100% not just when it suits you. You should be self sufficient and not needing government payments. Some help now and then fine but not constantly on the taxpayer's dime.

Well guyz,statments here echo what we've been dealing with for many years here in Mn and the double life style our ojib tribe lives,sadly we cannot stop folks from gaming at their casino's,we did phony up enough money for a billboard just south of grand casino on mille lacs lake,$50k for the bill board did'nt do much looking at the casino parking lot off and on,but good question raised here,"when is enough,enough?" how long are we obligated to keep paying for these sovergn nations? I've seen the #'s money wise year after year we tax payers cough up for grants,education,healthcare etc its in the millions every gal dang year.Say one word against and in a blink of an eye your "racist" or "hater".Then the tribe pads the pockets of our state democratic pockets,casino money 2-3million every years plus gifts,sickening.

If anyone actually believes that tribal casinos help their own people with their profits needs to pull their head out of the sand.
Living conditions on reservations improved? Nope, didn't think so.
Alcohol and drug abuse problems going down? Nope, didn't think so.
Infrastructure improved? Nope, didn't think so.
Unemployment rates improving? Nope, didn't think so.
The argument that Casino's are the answer to all their ills have been fed a large pile of BS. I wouldn't doubt the majority of Tribal Casino's have some skimming going on to benefit a few.
A better policy might include rewarding and paying for work and school versus this never ending cycle of paying and paying them with no incentive to do much of anything. Then again..like other things..if you are used to getting free or reduced stuff ,you will continue to vote for those willing to give it.
