I know they are placing some good items 'on sale' for the products that carry their name. I just bought a $200 vacuum sealer for $99 last week, but it's on backorder. Hopefully, these types of things continue...

Sounds like I need to make a trip over to EGF this week....

Wonder how it will affect the smaller stores like the EGF one.

Of no consequence to me, as rapid city is the closest store. Which I have been to once.

I do have a cabelas credit card, wonder what that turns to now

Likely going to be a lot of people losing jobs over this. This is going to hit the folks in Nebraska HARD.

From reading the press release it sounds as if they're going to keep Cabela's branding. All CLUB points will still be good. $5.5 billion and the combined company will be privately held.

Capital One.

Not liking this as the BPS stores I've been in and gear I've purchased aren't as good as Cabelas IMO.

I wonder if Gander Mountain is the next to be bought??? Although based on my experiences visiting them, no one would want them. No competitive pricing and horrid customer service.:;:stirthepot

I went to a bps down south in Missouri after basic training and it made Cabela's look like a mom and pop store. I have found both of the big stores are more and more useless to me.

Yeah there's no way they would ditch a brand of that size other then on products that are the exact same of their branded items. Cards and points stay as is from what I have seen. Sidney is going to a big hit on this one! I hope this triggers bass pro to be more hunter friendly.
